Welcome to the website of the Algonquian Indians of North Carolina, Inc.
a 501 C 3 Approved  Non-Profit Organization. We are comprised of people who are genealogically descended from the original historic Roanoke-Hatteras (Croatan) Indians of Dare County, North Carolina and Mattamuskeet Indians of Hyde County, North Carolina.  We are dedicated to keeping alive the heritage and culture of our ancestors, for the benefit of our members and the community at large.  Historically, our tribes were known for fishing, hunting and farming.

Join us as we celebrate our Seventh Annual Roanoke Island American Indian Culture Festival and Powwow in Manteo, NC on August 14th and 15th of 2010. Details will be announced soon.  Additionally, we solicit your support and prayers as we petition for state recognition by the state of North Carolina. We hope you will find our site enriching. Here, you will find information about our history, culture, calendar or events, programs/projects and other helpful resources. Have a pleasant journey.
